Henry Ford founded the Ford Motor Company in 1903, put the country on wheels with the Model T, and built the brand that effectively defined mass-market American motoring for the next century. The classic-era catalog is enormous: the Model A, the flathead V8 cars of the 1930s and 1940s, the shoebox Fords of 1949–51, the 1955–57 Fairlane and Crown Victoria, the Galaxie and Galaxie 500, the legendary Mustang from 1964½ onward, and the Falcon, Fairlane, Torino, Thunderbird, and LTD that filled out the lineup. On the truck side, the F-Series has been America's best-selling pickup since 1977, and the Bronco and Econoline are icons in their own right.

Most classic Ford restoration work centers on the Mustang, Thunderbird, Galaxie, Fairlane, Falcon, Torino, Crown Victoria, Country Squire, and the F-Series and Bronco truck families.
