Auto City Classic - Mustang
The Ford Mustang debuted on April 17, 1964 and instantly created the 'pony car' segment that spawned the Camaro, Challenger, and Firebird. The first-generation 1964½–1973 cars are among the most beloved American vehicles ever built, with the 1965–66 fastback, the 1967–68 GT and Shelby GT350/GT500, the 1969–70 Boss 302, Boss 429, and Mach 1, and the 1971–73 'big-body' Mach 1 and Boss 351 each commanding loyal followings. The 1974–78 Mustang II coupes and the 1979–93 Fox-body cars (including the 5.0 LX and GT) round out the classic-era catalog.
Mustang restoration is among the best-supported in the entire hobby — virtually every body panel, glass piece, weatherstrip, interior component, and mechanical part is reproduced, often in multiple quality tiers. Project years span 1964½ through the Fox era, with the 1965–68, 1969–70, and 1971–73 first-gen cars driving the most aftermarket activity.
