Lincoln has been Ford's luxury division since Henry Ford bought the company from founder Henry Leland in 1922. The lineup includes some of the most significant American luxury cars ever built: the K-series and Continental V12s of the 1930s and 1940s, the slab-sided 1961–69 Continentals with their iconic suicide-door sedan and convertible styling, the personal-luxury Mark series (Mark III, IV, V, and VI), and the down-sized Continental and Versailles of the late 1970s and early 1980s.

Most Lincoln restoration work focuses on the Continental — particularly the 1961–69 fourth-generation cars — along with the Mark IV and Mark V personal-luxury coupes, the Capri and Cosmopolitan of the early postwar years, and the Versailles.
