Auto City Classic - GTO

The Pontiac GTO is widely credited as the car that launched the modern muscle-car movement. In 1964, John DeLorean's Pontiac team bolted the division's 389 cubic-inch V8 into the mid-size Tempest LeMans, called it 'GTO' (a name borrowed unapologetically from Ferrari), and ignited a decade-long American horsepower war. The 1964–67 first-generation GTO, the 1968–72 'Endura bumper' second generation, and the legendary 1969 Judge are among the most desirable American muscle cars ever built. The 1973–74 third-generation cars closed out the original GTO line.

Common GTO projects span the 1964–67 first generation (including the 1965–66 cars with their Tri-Power 389s and the 1967 with its new 400 V8), the 1968–72 second generation with the Judge and Ram Air variants, and the rare 1973–74 cars. Reproduction body, glass, weatherstrip, interior, and GTO-specific trim parts are well-supported.
