Auto City Classic - Firebird

The Pontiac Firebird (1967–2002) was Pontiac's F-body sister to the Camaro and one of the definitive American muscle cars of the era. The first-generation 1967–69 cars share most of their bodywork with the Camaro but with Pontiac-specific front and rear styling and Pontiac engines. The 1970½–81 second generation produced the iconic Trans Am — the gold-and-black screaming-chicken-hood Smokey and the Bandit car — including the legendary 1973–74 Super Duty 455 cars and the 1977–79 Trans Am 6.6-liter cars. The 1982–92 third generation introduced the Trans Am GTA and IROC-rivaling Trans Am Turbo.

Most Firebird and Trans Am restoration projects involve the 1967–69 first generation, the 1970½–81 second generation including the Trans Am and Formula, and the 1982–92 third generation. Reproduction body, glass, weatherstrip, interior, and Trans Am–correct hood graphic and trim parts are well-supported.
