The Dodge Caravan (1984–2020) was the original American minivan, launched alongside the Plymouth Voyager in 1984 and credited with creating the modern minivan segment. The 1984–1990 first-generation cars on the K-car platform are the most distinctive in collector terms, while the 1996–2000 third-gen Caravans saw the most refinement and feature growth.
