Auto City Classic - Imperial
Imperial began life as Chrysler's top trim level in 1926 and was spun off as its own standalone luxury brand from 1955 through 1975, with a brief 1981–83 revival. During its standalone years, Imperial was Chrysler's direct answer to Cadillac and Lincoln, sharing its platform with senior Chryslers but with unique sheet metal, plusher interiors, and distinctive details like the freestanding 'gunsight' taillights of the late 1950s and the formal rooflines of the 1960s.
Most Imperial restoration projects involve the Crown, LeBaron, and Custom variants from the 1955–75 standalone era, plus the earlier Crown Imperial limousines and 1981–83 revival coupes. Browse the Imperial categories below for model-specific reproduction body, glass, trim, and mechanical components.
