Auto City Classic - Impala

The Chevrolet Impala launched in 1958 as a top-trim Bel Air, became its own model in 1959, and went on to be the best-selling car in America for much of the 1960s. The 1961–64 'bubble top' and 'flat top' coupes are particularly prized today, as is the legendary Impala SS 409 — the car the Beach Boys sang about, and the foundation of countless drag and street performance builds. The 1965–70 cars sold in enormous numbers, and the 1971–76 'glass house' cars remain popular lowrider and cruiser platforms.

Common Impala projects span the 1958 introduction year, the 1959–60 cars with their dramatic wing-like rear styling, the 1961–64 cars including the 409-powered SS, the 1965–70 cars, and the larger 1971–76 cars. Aftermarket reproduction support is broad across body, glass, weatherstrip, interior, and trim categories.
