Auto City Classic - El Camino

The Chevrolet El Camino was the rare American 'utility coupe' — a passenger-car-based pickup that married the styling of the Chevelle with a small open bed. Chevy built two distinct runs: 1959–60 on the full-size Brookwood platform, and 1964–87 on the Chevelle/Malibu A-body and later G-body chassis. The 1968–72 SS396 and SS454 El Caminos are the muscle-car icons of the lineup, while the 1973–77 Colonnade and 1978–87 G-body El Caminos remain popular cruiser and lowrider platforms.

Common El Camino projects include the rare 1959–60 first generation, the 1964–67 mid-size second generation, the 1968–72 third generation including the SS396 and SS454, the 1973–77 Colonnade fourth generation, and the 1978–87 G-body fifth generation. Reproduction sheet metal, glass, bed components, weatherstrip, and SS-correct trim are well-supported.
