Auto City Classic - Camaro

The Chevrolet Camaro was launched in September 1966 as the company's direct answer to the Ford Mustang, and the first-generation 1967–69 cars are now among the most collectible American vehicles of any era. High-performance variants — the Z/28 with its solid-lifter 302, the SS with 350 or 396 cubes, and the legendary all-aluminum-block ZL1 and aluminum-head L72 COPO cars — set the template for what a Chevy muscle car should be. The 1970–81 second generation carried the torch with the Z28 and IROC predecessors, while the 1982–92 third generation brought the IROC-Z to fame.

Common project Camaros include the 1967, 1968, and 1969 first-gen cars (each with year-specific trim and grilles), the 1970½ through 1981 second-gen cars, and the third-gen 1982–92 IROC and Z28 models. Aftermarket support is excellent, with full reproduction sheet metal, glass, weatherstrip, interior soft trim, and performance components widely available.
