Auto City Classic - Bel Air

The Chevrolet Bel Air ran from 1950 through 1981 and is most strongly associated with the 1955–1957 'Tri-Five' generation — among the most beloved American cars ever produced and the single most popular restoration platform in the hobby. The 1955 introduction of the small-block 265 V8 was a watershed moment for Chevrolet performance, and the 1957 cars with their dual headlights, twin hood spears, and gold-and-white trim are an enduring symbol of mid-century American style.

Bel Air restoration parts are unusually well-supported in the aftermarket — full reproduction sheet metal, glass, weatherstrip, interior soft trim, and chrome are all available, often in OE-correct form. Common project years run from the 1950–52 first generation through the Tri-Five 1955–57 cars, the 1958 'Glassic' year, the longer 1959–60 cars with their dramatic 'bat-wing' rear styling, and into the full-size 1961–75 examples.
